dod_old_anzio has now been renamed to "anzio" with no dod_ prefix. The name change is due to the map no longer being an exclusive 1.3 port, but now includes parts of source anzio. I skipped a version because dod_old_anzio_b4 was already finished and will be released to the public later down the road. B4 is for those who wish to play a perfect port of 1.3 anzio, b5 is for those who want to play a faster, more engaging anzio.
The spawns from source anzio have been seamlessly integrated into old_anzio. So far the results have been fantastic. Spawns are closer to the main portion of the map, and kars sitting on beach are no longer possible. It was shown that with the mod, old_anzio didn't work too well in a source setting. It is still possible to spawn camp in some areas. The single window/jump window looking towards axis spawn can still hit some relatively decent shots. The axis can also camp beach house and can still open the door and frag. I had to get creative with the spawn exits as they didn't perfectly match up, but I think people will be pleased with this version of old_anzio and will come to accept it as the superior anzio.
Changelog from b3:
- overall brightness in the map has been increased greatly.
- Spawns have been changed completely. It is harder to spawn camp, and the spawns have also been moved closer to the exits.
- You can no longer rifle nade through middle to bridge from plaza, and vice versa. You can still nade over the middle, but rifle nades won't pass all the way through.
- Allied loft was changed to the source version to allow jumping out of loft onto bridge. Beach house is still old style, but the loft itself has been changed.
- Bridge double cap has been changed from 3 seconds to 5 seconds, the time it took in source anzio.
- Wall thickness has been changed and is no longer as easy to wall as b3.
- 3d sky box was changed
A couple of easter eggs (sorta):
- In allies spawn you can swim extremely far.
- In axis spawn you can run around behind the barbed wire where the tank is.
